How to beat The Duchess

2 phases. Watch the tell, burrow the wind-up, punish the recovery.

Phase 1 — Stone Statue

Pattern
A large stone statue guarding the Queensbury Crypt generator. Wide horizontal swing that travels far across the arena, and jumps onto floor pressure plates that fire arrows along the ground.
Tell
Watch for the wind-up before the wide swing; her jumps telegraph the arrow plates.
Counter
Burrow to safety on the swing wind-up. None of her attacks are vertical — stay above or below her. Arrows break on her body, so put her between you and them. Don't get greedy.

Phase 2 — Tentacle Reveal

Pattern
At zero health she removes her head, revealing tentacles. The same wide swing returns but faster and is immediately followed by a lunge, plus a tentacle ground-slam that bursts at your position 3–6 times. Arrows spawn for most of the phase.
Tell
Quicker swing wind-up; the lunge follows instantly. The ground-burst tracks where you stand.
Counter
Keep moving in one direction to outrun the repeated bursts. Stay above/below her (attacks are horizontal except the post-swing lunge). Burrow through arrows and favour ranged sidearms.

Quick tips

  • ·Break the tombstone in the top-left of the room beforehand for a Side Arm if you lack one.
  • ·The arrow plates only hurt you, never the Duchess — treat them as terrain.
  • ·Phase 1 is forgiving; bank healing and aggression for phase 2.
  • ·Sealing The Duke in his coffin here grants the Proto Spark trinket.
