How to beat Nox's Beast

2 phases. Watch the tell, burrow the wind-up, punish the recovery.

Pattern: Fought on a large arena full of deep water. Bounces around, sprays poison bubbles, and opens a second mouth on its stomach to suck everything nearby. It destroys shallow water into deep-water pits and slams the ground to send out expanding wave rings.
Tell: A short hop precedes each bounce; a visible second mouth opens for the suction; the slam precedes the rings.
Counter: Dodge before the bounce lands. Stay at range so the suction can't swallow you. Poison bubbles are easy to side-step on the big arena. JUMP the wave rings — burrowing does not protect against them.

Pattern: At low health it swims diagonally through the water, carving large deep-water pits and damaging on contact.
Tell: It submerges and charges diagonally.
Counter: Burrow in the opposite diagonal to stay clear of its swim path and the fresh pits.

·Bring a ranged sidearm — the arena is huge and melee is risky during the suction.
·Buy the Pit Preserver at Big Lagoon's Swamp Shack to avoid instant death in deep water.
·Jump the wave rings; don't burrow them.
·Almost every threat comes from being too close — manage distance constantly.
